If you need a good media player then download VLC player.
It works and read all codec's, or the most.
It's better than the other players, for example quick time player, real player or other fukking stuff. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html (Homepage of VLC)

Personaly i have real/quicktime alternative codecs Installed So no need for those players 
And I would suggest Media Player Classic, It Plays Everything 
It looks kinda plain But It will play Just about everything (Codecs permitting)

Yea sp00ky, but the most or all free the codec's are installed, if you download vcl.
