I think if you could understand it you would need your head checking - probably 25% of the words are completely made up. |
Thats not completely true. The words got a kind of double meaning. Check out "Through the looking glass" on Project Gutenberg. And search the e-text for 'Jabberwockey'. The first few hits are the poem itself - then comes the explanation of the first paragraph. A friend of mine wrote her degree dissertation about "non"sense poems. I spellchecked it. It was quite interesting.
Such things, Spliffy, are an excellent compensation for empty servers and no TCE.

Ah of course, they have a sense, but they are still made up. If I recall, the wabe is the shadow cast by a sundial... Of course, some of the words, like "chortled" have fallen into general use.

...and only the rich bitches got that floppydisc drive...
long live the c-cassette I say. |
Really? Umpf I had two... of both. My father had the idea that it might be of use to be familiar with computers.
I remember the 5 1/4'' floppy discs were very expensive, too. 100 Deutschmarks (about 50 Euros, inflation not drawn into calculation) for a pack of ten. But I had my C64 in use some days ago and the only game I bought (Little Computer People) still works! Good old Howard didn't age a bit. He even had the same strangely lavender-colored pet dog.
