slow down Killermaster,
my torrent only got the size of the first CD and there are 5 to pull down.
..
@init... you have already installed? What about the nvidia-graphics-drivers? Included or still the same precedure as every version ...
and they told xgl is only ready for eye-candy ...
so i will work with my icewm ... and only start up another xgl-server
for some fun ...
and if you ask, why it lasts so long....
i cannot run the torrent download and play an online-shooter at the same
time .... if the download rate goes over 60kb and the upload with around 8-9 kb you only can see me warping thru the map ...

Yes, I've installed... Downloaded as fast as I could... no torrent.
1. nVIDIA, a mini installer was installed as defaul, had to run it as usuall with --update and everything was ok. (NVIDIA-1.0-8756)
2. xgl - I dont think it's just eye-candy... easy to work with and if one puts the cursor in the top-right corner all windows gets organised neatly on the desk. (like thumbnails) and one just click on the desired one... well its eye-candy but its fun to change workspace in 3d
3. everything else worked right out of the box... wlan, 3D, Alsa, suspend etc...
4. ICEWM
hehe
edit: with xgl runnin' tce is not fullscreen... only in a window (dont ask me why...)

i`ll install it on the next ready-to-sale pc and you`ll get a test report of a linux noob here...
if it`s not easy or unstable like hell, i`ll ban it for life again, coz this is the 3rd time i try to use linux. it was too heavy to install drivers or something.
the other reason i use microstuff is that all my customers are using windows and the long time in my job made me a windows specialist
and no, i`m not microsoft certificated (don`t want to pay the money to billy-boy!) but i`m technically certified that`s enough for me
torrent now after 5 minutes: 5%

if you never did it with mkiso and bootable, no way..
there is this link about a mksusedvd tool:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=146800&package_id=163319&release_id=416035
but i did never use it. I made the bootable dvd for the 10.0, but it will always fail the buildin-check ... did not put any effort in it to generate the correct checksum and put this in the right file. I always do a small installation and copy all cds in one directory and then tell yast to use this directory as install-source. And you will need the 6th CD if you wanna use some software like acroreader, xv, etc. ... u even need later the access to packman, to change the non-mp3 programms to mp3-aware programms ... or compile them from source yourself ..
Played yesterday tce+ts under 10.1 and you could hear the damned whistle-sound when i was speaking ... thats a ts2 fault... or ... cause recording from the micro works without this disturbing whistle .... .
i will shure use 10.0 the next month and only do a 10.1 step for step sometimes ... and i did not try out the new 3d-desktop ..
there is a new, updated enemy-territory version
.. to solve some leaks, buggy holes ... any one did already try it?

I've downloaded it, test, but no installed. anyway, it's just an update of the .exe files. But i haven't tried to join a 2.60 server with my 2.60b installed. even more, I havent played in last days I NEEEEEEED IT!!! (but today is the champions league final - BARCELOOOONAAAAA ) When i do, will inform you.
About Suse, last version i tried was 9.x. I will try 10.1. I hope it doesn't have the ET sound problem of debian and derivatives (tired of echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss ).

et-update: that 2.60b update isn`t official on id-software website. like john said, it is only the et.exe (so no changes for tc:e). i placed the file into et and all is like before...
suse: ahm... too late, i burned it on cd`s
i try to install 10.1 later on my sempron 2800 mashine...
