The software you have to install seems to be a kind of bittorrent client. It is used to download the gamefile. Seems to be ok. I'll try to remove it after dowloading and report.

Hey,

so it seems that the open beta will start within next week (after 15th).
Well I tried to play the game but as soon as I received a beta key and wated to create my ingame profile it freezed. It seems this is a verison problem because in the meanwhile there is a new version availavble over gamefirstdingelidong.
But Gamefirst freezed at 100%patch status...dont know why.
Best thing is to uninstall everything an reload the game with the current client.

If you had other experiances with it, let us know. Wink

Regards
bull

Ok,

short update from my side:
It seems it is a known problem, that the patching over gamerfirst is not working correctly.
So soon there will be a alternate source for download. As soon as I receive it I wil inform/upload it.

Regards
bull

meanwhile i try to upload the mac versions for tc:e Wink

Well, the download stopped after a while and I did not try it again. The Gamers-First-Software installed (and did not uninstall Evil or Very Mad ) a service called DNA (some kind of alleged bittorrent tuning tool). That thing (and the dowload-prog itself) made themselves start at system startup and ask for access to the internet as both client and server. If the game itself requests access, its ok with me, but the loader?
I still think that it does not do any spying or anything but I don't want this thing to modify my system and install background services. So I'll wait until there are other means of getting it.
So for uninstallation be sure to not only remove the gamers-first-software but also the DNA thingy. DNA is a part of Azureus, also, if I remember correctly. So if you use that it might be useful to keep it, though it is not vital, I believe.
