There are few gonzo| members like me and mtz for an example, who can't make invites, comment on profiles and such, because we haven't purchased any games from Steam. I heard that this may become available if we receive a "gift", does anyone have anything useless, like an old update, that you could gift us? Then maybe we can gift that item to each other to make all options available, and then gift it back to the original owner?
Does it work this way anyways?

nope, you have to purchase those gifts first, too. when you buy sth there, you have to choose if it should be a gift or for your own account. so i guess there is noone who got some gifts just like that....
edit: just saw your birthday is soon, lets see what we can do.
