I thought john has no sound in et while he is on ts ... he is in your clan and so it looks like this same old shitty prob i had.
man! i should learn to read fairly 
yeah a card with hardwaremixing is a must for linux .. i have a pci creative sb live 5.1 with emu10k1 chipset ... runs fine.
and costs maybe 10 euro at ebay, or a friend of you got still one that is not in use ... ask them.
maybe test have one left

no, sorry - have never got this soundblaster, i missed it and took the easy way to use multiple sound-cards like this:

and if theres the need i can plug in the usb-headset too. The old, first one even does not need this "echo lines" to play with this sound-device.
