GeGonzo vs. Ati |
|
if this matter is of interest to some1
if have tested a GeGonzo FX 5500 256MB DDR, 270MHz Core Clock, 400MHz RAMDAC, AGP 8x. it`s a low cost card but really a good one!!! i paid 45 euros in germany (at ebay`s). for the same money i got an ATI Radeon 9250 256MB with lower performance. for example only 240MHz Core Clock....
the fx card needs less of your system recources, is easier to handle, puts more quality and performance in games and is more compatible to "up-to-date" games.
i think this applies to all nvidia-chipset based grafikcards.... so make your choise... it`s a question of liquid assets

rafty.....the question was: "what graphics chip manufacturer do you prefer?".....
as far as I know geforce is not a manufacturer....lol
it had to be: ATI vs. Nvidia....
not ATI vs. Geforce or Radeon vs. Nvidia...
or alternative the chip types
Radeon vs. Geforce
professor d3im0s has spoken.....

LOL pokemon
i`m using both chipsets. nvidia rules in gaming and pc performance. ati is better for office stuff and videoediting!
up to spring this year i made the warranty support for some supermarket-computers (same hardware as you can buy in a shop) . believe me, ati cards where more defectively than nvidia cards and customers were crying "please give me nvidia"

u can't say that in general "ati is more fore office use and nvidia for gaming" both chip-manufacturers have different chips on the market and the chips are in different categories: low end (budget) - middle class - high end
onboard graphics chips suck in general so there is no need for a discussion.
both ati and nvidia have specific differences between the chip types but there is nothing like a "performance king" or something...both chip types are quite even in performance and price....
after all there is something like a rivality between the two ATI and Nvidia
it only depends on wich chip type and manufacturer u prefer...just like buying a car....someone prefers buying a mercedes...anotheron prefers buying a bmw....it's a question of sympathy....
but u don't have to forget to compare the chip-categories (listed above) with each other...it's clear that an ATI Radeon 9200 (low-endbudget) or whatever is no match for a GEFORCE 7800GTX (high end)....first one about 50€ second about 400€ and more...
but here is a comparison in the high end sector that says everything:
http://www.hardwareluxx.de/cms/artikel.php?action=show&id=319&seite=17
and
seen in a technological way both manufacturers are quite even.
and u guys seem to prefer nvidia cards...that'S ok for me....
BUT
RAGONZO RADEON ROXX!!!!!!

1st: for tc:e you don`t need a oversized vga and i don`t want to spend the money for that.
2nd: i give a shit on benchmarks or laboratory tests . about 10 years i repaired thousands of puters at customers in germany, belgium and the netherlands with all that different vga`s (not only with vga issues), so i know what`s up in real life
enjoy this poll

I am now thinking of upgrading my PC and stumbled into this forum hoping to bring it back to life.
I ordered a game called Vanguard Saga of Heros and when I tried it, I realised that my PC is now getting old cos I couldn't play the damn game without walking around like a rusty robot (lag).
I have:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+
2.01 GHz & 1.00GB of RAM
My graphics card: NVIDIA GeGonzo FX 5600XT
So the challenge.....
Pimp me up for €100-€150
Is it possible?
