Hehe. True, but wait till you see my lasagne. Your arteries will surrender when you only look at it. |
Careful.
My Lasagne beats what you can find in Italy, so the people who have tried it say anyway.
It is my signature dish and I'll take my recipe to the grave with me (although I might hand it down to my sons before I go to gonzo heaven)

So I tried this dish tonight.
I had everything except this strange tomato powder so I used a little dried tomato soup and some concentrate instead. I used british sausages and took outthe sweetcorn and mushrooms because my boys don't like them.
I go a little carried away with the cooking and only remembered to take a photo once it was all bubbling away in the pan.
This is the nearly finished product in the dish being guarded by my youngest with his sniper rifle while I get the cheese.
Et Voila!
Everyone thought it was delicious so hats of to Triff for a great recipe!

Ha! Very good. Thanks for your reply, Spliffy! I'm glad you and your boys liked it.
The substitution of my tomato-powder by dried tomato soup seems to be just perfect. But is there really no tomato-sauce-powder at your place? Simple powder you stir into plain boiling water to have something to pour over some spaghetti or something like that? I did not expect it to be "strange".
It is sometimes hard to explain all the ingredients. Especially when you take wurst or local things you know for many years but that are different (if available at all) in other places.
I wonder what I could post next...?

Well,
In asnwer to your quetion, hmm...
It may exist but I have never heard of it. We tend to use Pasata (tomato pulp), tinned tomato, fresh tomato or a ready made tomato sauce. The powders are normally more gravy ie beef, chicken, veal, pork or lamb which are used as sauce bases.
Pasata is my favourite because you can add anything to it....red wine, red wine or even some red wine to make that mouth watering tomato sauce.
I was intrigued by your recipe beause I have never seen a tomato sauce using milk and couldn't resist trying it. Very tasty I must add.
