omgz0r plz stop using poor gamecam dudes!
it gives just so dumb results
do it like that:
get some space on your harddrive, (you gonna need a bit )
get your demos ready
empty your screenshots folder (thats important)
now type that into console:
/demo NAMEOFYOURNOOBFRAGDEMO; cl_avidemo NUMBEROFFPSYOUWANNACAPTURE
gonna be kinda slow but just wait till it reaches the end and your back to the menue
if you wanna have sound too do this right afterwards
/demo NAMEOFYOURNOOBFRAGDEMO;wav_record
to get rid of the bloody demo window you can add ;demo_infowindow 0 to the first command
now you should have a big bunch of tga files in your screenshots directory that are named like : shot000.tga, shot001.tga, ...
if you also recorded sound your sound file is in TCEFOLDER/wav and named wav0000.wav or higher, if you already recorded one
now we wanna get that 2 files into 1 that we can use to edit with some other dumb thingy:
download virtualdub her (only 1.3 mb)
unzip it and start the VirtualDub.exe go there to File->Open video File select "Image sequence" as filetype and select the tga from the screenshots folder with the lowest value (some 00000)
if you have recorded audio go to Audio->audio from other file and select the wav file mentioned before then go again to Audio and klick on full processing mode
if you have no audio recorded press on no audio
now go to Video->Frame Rate set it to change frame rate to (fps) and type in the fps you used. leave the other settings alone
now we can save our record to 1 file go to Save a avi select a file name and wait till the export is finished
for more intelligent dudes:
you can cut out stuff within virtual dub before exporting to avi, and you can select a video codec within virtual dub in Video->Compression
@all never forget to clean the screenshots and the wav folder before you start recording the next demo!

okay dumb gonzos, just made a check video with my way and one with the gonzo way.
if you wanna do it the gonzo way do it but DOWNLOAD NEW VERSION 2.2 OF GAMECAM
if not read that to get some dumb info
but the gonzo way isn't gonzo anymore!
i googled for gamecam and on their webpage they had only version 2.2 so i downloaded tested and it worked like a charm.
when i checked the screenshots folder then, i saw that gamecam used the ingame record feature LOL
the quality was better than on shiftys vid
my way of doing it is still better lulz
it has 3 good points:
1st: sound wohho you have the ingame sounds
2nd: with same video resolution same framerate as gamecam i could still achive a better result at a much more lower filesize (I even used the same vide codec !)
3rd: no bloody gamecam picture
so if you wanna do it the gonzo way, but download newer version for better results,
if you wanna do it the nice merlin way read his instructions

Muahahahaha - thanks to Merlins test I now have one of my favourite fragvids on my cellular!
Merlins way really is the one clearly preferable. And it is not that hard to do it.
What kind of useful info could I possibly put in this third line?
