Sausage-goulash |
|
This time for Bionic: A very simple recipe with sausages.
And here is what you need:
- 1 big Onion
- 200 ml Cream
- 200 ml Milk (or water)
- a blob of mustard (about 2 teaspoons)
- a good blob of ketchup (4 teaspoons) or take the same amount of tomato purée
- a small tin (140 g) of corn
- half a stock cube
- a knob of butter (1 tablespoon)
- 1 tablespoon of flour
And last but not least:
- 5 Wiener sausages (or about 450g of similar wurst)
Haz some said sausagez?
Cut up the onion (not too fine) and make sausage-wheels. Leave some of the sausage ends. We'll need them later. Let the liquid drain from the tin of corn.
Fine. Now you need the following setup:
In the small pan I put some margarine. The big in the middle is for the goulash and the pot on the right is for whatever you fancy to have with the goulash. I prefer potatoes but rice or noodles are just fine as well. Since I had no potatoes, that day, I decided to take noodles.
In the small pan, I steamed the onions a little. Don't let them get brown. Melt the Butter in the big pan and boil up the water for the noodles.
Now add the flour to the hot butter and stir. I think the result is called a roux? It is fine, when it looks like in the picture above.
Hey, when iz the sausagez coming into play?
We're almost there.
Now pour the cream and milk into the roux and plunge in the stock...
...add the ketchup and mustard. Let that cook on medium heat for about eight minutes. Stir occasionally. Season it with salt and pepper.
Now add the onion, corn aaaaaand the sausage-wheels and leave it on low temperature for about 15 more minutes. It must not be too fluid. If so, add sauce thickener.
Mealtime!
Yayyy, mealtime, can I haz the sausage ends, pleaze? Pretty pleaze?
Feed the dog and eat the rest yourself.
Now tell me - is that easy enough?

Actually it is not a red eye reduction. The red eye reduction failed completely so I used gimp. But believe me, it looked worse b4.
Edit: And the word is not "flasher" but "Flasche" (simply meaning bottle). Sorry mate, no German citizenship for you.

Is that a bottle of Reisling by your window? |
No, it is a 1988 Mosel wine from a private wine producer. I usually don't buy white wines. I prefer red ones. You can see one of those on the right side, a South African Pinotage. Cheap, but I like it.
My father in law brought the white one along for my wife's birthday.

Wow, I'm gonna try this probably next week.
Looks great. I have to buy new batteries for my camera so I can show you how badly I failed.

You can use your old rusty oven to add a little flavour.

Done & Dusted.
A nice creamy tomato/ mustardy dish that is great for the whole family.
Nothing left on any plates.
I didn't know what to do with my sausage ends though as I have no dog.
Photos in a while...
