Spliffy's Stuffed Turkey Legs |
|
So here (as promised) is my latest attempt to enter the world of cunilary excellence.
I am going to show you how to do stuffed turkey legs.
You may have all had turkey for Christmas and, if you are like me, the legs are the last thing you want to eat as they are usually dry, very big and not quite as tasty as the breast meat.
My solution to this?
Cut the buggers off and save them as you can make a superb meal for four people with just one leg.
This is what a Turkey leg looks like:
And here we go....
First we need to remove the bone from within the leg. To do this, you must carefully work around the bone with a knife starting at the fat end and wrking towards the thin end until it comes free.
You then have to remove all the cartilage (the hard white bits).
You should have something that looks like this. Remember, leave the skin intact!
Your meat is now ready for stuffing.
You can make your own stuffing or buy it from your butcher/ supermarket. I find it easier just to say a little prayer and hold my hands out. It often just drops out of the sky into my hands in a stream of bright light.
Now you want to place the stuffing in the middle of your meat and roll it up in some cooking foil (aluminiun) so it looks like the terminator's knacki.
Now slam that puppy in the oven for 1 hour, remove the foil and blast it again for 45mins to 1 hour and it's done! Yummy yummy...
That's it!
Now you just got to think of the rest of the meal...
I served this with roast potatoes, parsnips, sweetcorn and home made gravy.
Parsnips make good false noses and knackis to make your wife laugh.
Cut em up and roast em with the potatoes.
For the gravy/sauce. Use the bones and crap left over from your leg and boil them in water with chopped veg (carrots, celery, leek etc) for 1 hour to make a nice stock.
Now remove your turkey from it's roasting pan and deglaze it over a hob with some red wine. Mix the sauce with your vegetable stock (add butter and flour to thicken if needed) for a delicious gravy.
Et Voila!
Bon Appetit!

yuppie
Nice, this was worth waiting for, looks like in those restaurants, which don't serve Turkish food,
yep, I have seen pictures of those places.
They don't drink beer from plastic mug.
You have table made of stone in your KITCHEN?
TABLE IN THE KITCHEN!?!?!?
WTF!
And a refrigerator that tall? Like in big world?!?
You mean you vaporize that wine? Where do it go? Do you breath it, and come drunk?
You use fork AND a knife?
Plants can live in your home climate? How?
