What is wrong with a nicely matured fine cognac like Martel, Otard (XO is my favourite) or Remy Martin? That stuff is made from prime grapes grown in a special soil found only in the best areas of the Cognac region. The drink is left to mature for over 25 yrs in 300 yr old oak casks. When you swish a good cognac like this in your tulip glass it slides down the glass like creamy caramel. Imagine the sensation in your throat? Hmmmmmmmmmmm I tried cherry brandy a few years back and, no offence gonzos, I have to say I think it is fit only for transvestites, marmite miners and girls....unless, of course, you drink it straight from the bottle or use it in mind altering cocktails in which case you may be able to redeem some macho status. Try the real stuff and you wont go back I'm sure. I would send you all some to try but at €80 a bottle it is a little pricey. Anything else is for people who are too scared to taste the real nectar of the gonzo. Okay? Ja. The brand is De Kuyper. They were established in 1695 when the gonzos of the day were brandishing cutlasses and sticking horrible rusted daggers into the enemy. A gonzo of that era would take a long swig of De Kuyper's Cherry Brandy Liqueur before firing a steel crossbow bolt through somebody's spine at 50 yards. Then he would let out an evil laugh, the pink foam of filthy gonzo spit and cherry alcohol dripping from the corner of his mouth. That is history, chaps. And you gotta respect history.
